Sweet Relief?
No confirmation that Hillsboro's own Tom Cox, Libertarian RINO, seeks to replace fellow resident Crazy Susan McLain on Metro Council. One can only hope the GOP affiliation will consolidate his support.
McLain has been WaCo's worst enemy. This, in a nutshell, is her thinking about need for employment lands and UGB expansion in the heart of Portland metro's only jurisdiction fully committed to economic development:
So let me get this straight:
-She basically sees one constituent jurisdiction seeking a money grab
-She feels another constituent is mainly concerned with flex jobs and clusters (almond or filbert?)?! flex jobs?!
-And she makes a dilemma out of the choice between ag labor jobs paying $16,000 or less and land rich/cash poor farmers
-OR-
jobs paying $60,000 plus in tech/research/innovation?
Tom Cox for Metro Council... NOW.

In western Washington County, for example, Forest Grove, Cornelius, and Hillsboro are ringed with an industry that needs the fields and forests to continue jobs in farming, nursery and forestry. The cities, like Cornelius, want to increase their tax base, and Hillsboro would like the opportunity for more high tech flex jobs and clusters.

Susan is probably the least intelligent Metro council member in the last decade, which is quite a feat. I would have to say that the current Metro council is pretty bright, and Tom would definately be an improvement over Susan.
