Big Look
The real problem I see with the big look group is that none of the individuals really has any understanding of the underlying dynamics of land development or economics. As a result, they will be largely dependent upon staffers feeding them information, probably from DLCD. This will really serve as an achilles heel in this process if they don't get some significant outside input. The unfortunate outcome of this may be a rubber stamp of the status quo, which is read as a mandate that we only need to tinker with things on the margin. The politicians will have "addressed" it through commissioning the panel, the public and press will get bored with it, and the advocates and bureaurocracy will control it through the technical support offered.

Sorry to be so cynical, but it is the most likely scenario I can envision.
